FPC Supports House of Memories Christmas Memory Box Campaign
Nominate a care home to receive a memory box...
FPC is delighted to announce that we are supporting the House of Memories dementia awareness programme again this Christmas and we would like to extend that support to any clients (and close professional contacts) who have family members or friends affected by the disease.
As you know, House of Memories (a project created by National Museums Liverpool) is very close to our hearts, as many of our clients’ and colleagues' lives have been touched by dementia. FPC has been proud to support the programme since it started in 2012 by helping to fund various initiatives including their memory suitcases and training days, which are free for family carers. Our continued support has helped House of Memories to train more than 11,000 carers of people living with dementia across the North West.
This year we are sending more than 100 Christmas memory boxes to residential care homes in the North West. Memory boxes contain items from the past and have been used with great success to trigger memories for people living with dementia. The special Christmas boxes will be packed with a selection of general and Christmas-themed memorabilia such as classic games, memory tree posters and nostalgia packs. Many of the items can be found in the House of Memories online shop.
As sponsor of the initiative, we have allocated a number of the boxes to distribute to our clients, contacts and staff so if you would like to nominate a care home or carer to receive a memory box please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call Amanda on 01704 571777 before Friday 24th November.
In order to ensure that the Memory Boxes arrive on time (and beat the Christmas rush) we need to receive your responses before the deadline above to avoid disappointment. We will either arrange delivery for you or get your box to you to present personally. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries.
