Looking Ahead to Bernice’s Retirement

This September, Bernice will retire from FPC after almost 29 years with the business, having joined in October 1997.

Bernice’s clients have been aware of her plans for some time as we have been planning internally for continuity and a transition of responsibilities, but we wanted to take this opportunity to share the news more widely with the FPC client base and our professional and community partners.

Moira O’Shaughnessy, Managing Partner comments:

“Bernice has been a valued member of the FPC team for nearly three decades and her long service reflects the commitment and care she has brought to the business over that time.  Joining us in 1997 as Technical Manager Bernice elevated FPC’s planning capability and pensions expertise at a time when the business was growing, as was the complexity of our work. Our planning team was built on Bernice’s expertise, and they continue to reflect the values she instilled of curiosity and continual learning but with absolute attention to detail and dedication to client care.

On a personal level Bernice has been a huge support and wonderful business partner to Mark and I, and she even helped train me for my 60th birthday Camino challenge! Whilst I will never match her physical prowess on the trails of the Lake District she has been an inspiration in term of showing us all just what a 60 plus woman is capable of and I’m sure there will be lots more challenges planned – but hopefully combined with some well deserved down-time too.”

We know many of you will want to join us in celebrating Bernice’s contribution to FPC so we will share more about that as September approaches, but for now we wanted simply to acknowledge this significant moment and Bernice’s longstanding contribution to FPC.
