“Something that I have always enjoyed, in several very varied business contexts, is problem solving and working with others to help craft robust solutions to business challenges. In FPC’s case, I have the opportunity to work with people who are passionate about the positive difference that they can make to the lives and goals of clients and their families.”
Harry joined the FPC team in 2016. Having originally qualified as a solicitor, he spent most of his executive career working in industry, including 15 years in financial services, where he worked for several major banking and insurance groups, before, through and after the financial crisis.
Harry has a significant track record in governance and dealing with prudential and conduct regulators, including helping to shape regulatory developments post the financial crisis.
Following his (semi) retirement, Harry chairs the boards of some of the largest UK occupational pension schemes. He is also Deputy Chairman and Senior Independent Director of a small regional Building Society.
Harry’s qualifications include:
- LLB (Hons) – Manchester University
- Professional (pensions) Trustee
Harry’s role at FPC continues to evolve but he is mainly responsible for helping to enhance the depth and breadth of challenge and good governance within the firm (at management and Investment Committee level), building on firm foundations to help foster a robust and sustainable business model.
Harry describes himself as an ‘aspirational golfer’ and looks forward to the day when he has time to improve his technique. He is also a keen traveller and enjoys good food and wine (a recurring theme within FPC).
