The Ormskirk Beer, Food and Wine Festival proved to be the perfect motivator for a team of runners from FPC…
A team from FPC successfully completed the Ormskirk 10K recently, with all sponsorship raised being donated to the Merseyside Women’s Fund.
The latest in a series of initiatives which FPC is proud to support, the Women’s Fund has recently been launched by the Community Foundation for Merseyside and Lancashire.
FPC’s running team was a mix of keen runners and first-timers, all with one thing in common, the determination to finish (ideally not last!) and raise some money for a great cause.
Unfortunately Ormskirk isn’t flat and a couple of long hilly sections (and a strong head-wind) presented the team with some challenges. However, the sun was shining and the hundreds of supporters who lined the gruelling route motivated the whole team to complete the course, a few achieving very respectable times!
As the run formed part of the Ormskirk Beer, Food and Wine festival, there was no shortage of sustenance at the end of the run so the team promptly headed off to undo all their good work and sample the delights of the beer tent.
